Children can create their own blogs using a very similar system to teacher created blogs.
Children blogs are not made visible to anyone other than the creating child and their teacher unless the teacher sets the blog to be viewable to others.
The advantage of this is that a child created blog does not have to go through the approvals process (unless the teacher makes the blog viewable to others). So children can use their own blog to write about their chosen topic without having to wait for posts to be approved.
Children can create their own blogs using the 2Blog Tools in the Communicating and Sharing section of tools or the admin cog 
in the Shared Blogs tab.
